How to tell if NG or LPG Genesis seams too hot
« on: March 02, 2016, 12:47:53 PM »
Hi, just picked up a Genesis silver that came with no hose.

I connected my LPG tank and hose from my Weber Q220 but found that even on the low burner setting the heat was at 450f in about 5 minutes which seam very hot compared to my q 220 which on high takes 15-20 minutes to reach that temp and wont go any higher.

Could this mean that it is a NG model? The previous owner said he ran it on LPG but it just seams too hot,or is this just the lowest temp on the bigger grills

Does anyone know the standard size of the LPG orifices?

thanks

Can't tell yo uthe size of the orifice, but a quick solution would be to check and see if there's a place to hang a LP tank.   If not, then it's probably a NG model.

if it's still there, the serial number label should have a model number you could look up.
