It choked out from 350ish to almost nothing in about 30-40 minutes. Ill block off the burner tube to stop some of the air.

Wow that's a creative and extremely practical repair. If you'd prefer to have something a little more oem, I have a blue ss bowl in extremely nice condition that you can have.

HOLY SHIT @Hell Fire Grill you are amazing.  What did you use to cut out the black kettle?

@MikeRocksTheRed
That complement is a bit over stated.

I cut the kettles with a peanut grinder and a cut off disk that has a really narrow kerf. You can see it in the pic with the donor kettle section removed.

Thanks

nice work // you turned that around really quick

@TexasOnion Thanks for this. I busted my butt trying to replace the rotten section by noon, because I didn't want to invest alot of T&M. Unfortunately the last screw went in at 12:15. It took the rest of the day to clean and reassemble. If I 604ed it I'd be working on it til some time next week.

@pbe gummi bear Thanks for the offer Lawrance!

I think I'll leave it alone since this transplant is so unique.

Dont trash that kettle though, its got a ton of possibilitys in another project.

@ hell fire grill   paint the bucket holder black  / that' ll draw attention away from the black ring showing

Hell Fire Grill

Now I'm going to get it dirty so the next guy that gets it has to clean it up.
