Took in a stray
« on: February 23, 2016, 05:48:20 AM »
Today is trash day in our neighborhood and someone decided to send this little guy over the rainbow bridge.  Funny thing is that it was put out almost directly across the street from another WKC member (Bob BQ).  I thought maybe he left his gate open and it made a break for it.

That kettle is in pretty decent shape. Why would someone just throw it away like that? The least they could have done was put it on the free list on CL? ...or recycled the metal for scrap? ...or donated it to the Goodwill so some needy family could have a Weber grill that they otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford? etc.
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

Looking closer after work I discovered what looked like a raccoon or something melted/rotted into the grate and bottom.  Bad news. They got rid of this for a reason.

I'm kidding.  I'm pretty stoked on this grill.  I already have a green Budweiser 18" though that will need a home if I keep this one.

Hmmm... completely missed that one.  @blksabbath , you either grabbed it before I was out the door, or I was in too big of a hurry. Good rescue! If you decide to lose the green 18, let me know.

In some places, putting it on the curb with the trash is like listing it for free on CL. If the item is nice enough, it will get picked up before the trash hauls it off.
