Did anyone know Weber made a Burnt Orange kettle?

Yep they did! I just figured it out. Here's what I found.

The catalog states;

"This standard sized 300 series 23" kettle porcelenized in our new color Burnt Orange cradles in our sturdy black iron frame."



Here's one. I think this is  BBQ Boys. You can actually see the orange tinge if you look closely.



Now, it seems weber still made these in regular red at that time because we have seen so many others that don't have any hint of orange in them.

Ok...I can tell you this for a fact.
My red Ranger is FAR brighter in color than your typical red.  AND...it DOES have more of an orange color than red.  If you put it side by side with any of my other reds...its quite different.

Yeah...the red handles are original.

Shaun, a pic of them side by side might be tough right now.  The old red (burnt orange) is stored away in my shed right now.  I'll have to dbl check see if I have any old pics of it next to another grill that you can see the difference.

I agree with Jeff, I think it's clear he also has the now prized burnt orange as well. Notice how the red fades over to something lighter toward the top of the lid like it does in the museum picture. I think we have just documented another very rare color that appears was only used for a certain model.

One thing I don't know for sure about my Rangers is the wheels.  I've never seen them before like this on any other Weber.  While both my Rangers have the same wheel...both of these grills were acquired from the same person.  So they may have replaced them both together.  Aside from that one question, they are both original and complete.

Here is another photo of it with the other reds...you can sort of see the difference, but when you are in person next to it...it jumps out.

Is Weber representatives need to sit down & stare at those two pictures for one hour, without gettin' up to pee & then give us all the goods on the history of all kettles......
