Do new style covers fit older style Spirts e-310?

Hey guys I hate to post a gasser question in this section, but I know it gets a lot of traffic.

So my FIL rebuilt this spirit e-310, ever since me, he now only uses Webers 😀. (I'll get him on charcoal soon enough)

Until then, he wants a cover for this grill for Christmas (and it too has to be Weber) I've read some reviews on Amazon that the new style covers don't fit these older style spirits. Then some reviews say they do fit but they're tight.

So, does anyone know if the new spirit covers will actually fit this?
