I thought about the same thing, but I'm sure they will get to the states at some point.

I'd stay away from the cold smoker. I have the proq cold smoker, which is a similar design, and it's finicky with the dust you use. I got so frustrated with it in the last cook that I bought an amazeN pellet smoker.

PBE I was thinking about the cold smoker from proq - is it really that bad? Something wrong with the design or dust quality?

I wonder how the AmazeN pellets would work used in the Weber unit? Still have yet to test mine out... would prefer the Weber one but I cant imagine they'd be that much different.

I think it's a combination of both. I believe the mesh material they use doesn't flow air that well so it's very finicky with the dust particle size/species. The channel cross section on the original proq are also quite small so the risk of burnout is higher.  However, when it does work properly with dust it can smoke for a long time. Other reviews online seem to have similar experiences. Frankly, I don't care to experiment with this cold smoker anymore when I'm smoking meat that costs alot of money and time to prep. *note- I process my own dust from pellets. Dust is pricier and more difficult to source locally.

I can run some tests with the AMPS and ProQ with pellets if there is interest.

Does it look like that waffle iron flips/turns in that stand somehow ?

I picked up this iron last year and it worked great

I reviewed it and some other cold smokers here: http://weberkettleclub.com/blog/2015/07/26/how-to-cold-smoke-on-a-weber/

Wasn't there a thread in the past year about a rotis basket that looked like this Weber Fine Mesh Rotis Basket??

http://www.riversidegardencentre.co.uk/weber-original-rotisserie-fine-mesh-basket.html

I thought someone was looking to import a stack of them to the US.
