@pbe gummi bear Thanks gummi - I knew I was doing something wrong! I'm not concerned with the hedge being in the shot or not I just have a tiny little backyard so there isn't much other interesting backdrop around. :) I think I'll try it in the garage under fluorescent and see if it does any better... With a lighter backdrop like you said. Cheers!

Congrats on a tremendous restore! It cleaned up better than I hoped. Again I say- that kettle is a museum piece and should make a nationwide tour....

I think we all agree that it's great to see a truly rare (likely one-of-a-kind) "old" Weber looking almost "as-new" thanks to your efforts.  Thank you for taking such care during the restoration, and enjoy being able to see that kettle on a daily basis  ...  it's just astounding.              SJ
