A question about the 26" kettle...
« on: August 23, 2015, 07:53:58 AM »
As we all know, Weber redesigned the lid bale for the 22.5 kettle for 2015 so that the lid stands straight up at 180 degrees when the kettle is open. Does anyone know if they made this same change to the lid bale on the 2015 26.75 kettle? Thanks in advance.
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

This is a 2015 26r - I can't speak to anything else and I don't know if this is a change but here it is with the lid back.

I wouldn't call it a perfect 90 but really close - its definitely a lot better than the old style 22s. Hope this helps.

Cheers -

Thanks for the pics and help @Matt_T and @1911Ron. I checked my 26" against your pics, it looks the same to me. Almost completely vertical, but not quite.

Where did you get the warming rack @Matt_T? Is that a vintage Weber Half round rack? What is that? Show some more pics of that please?

is 299.99 a decent price for a new 26 incher?

If you can still find them at the old price of $299.00, then yes, that is a good price. Check the model number to make sure if it is an old one leftover from 2014 or the new model for 2015.

The 26" is on Amazon for $299.  I haven't seen them going for more than that actually.  Is there a price hike imminent?

@ramsfan - I'm on it. I'll get you pictures later on today but its not vintage and its not Weber it the XL half raised grate for X-Large Egg made by BGE. I modified it a bit to increase the ease of access to the food placed underneath it which I will show you later in a photo. I saw this somewhere and knew I had to do it - it may have even been on here I just can't remember. I take no credit for the find or the mod but I will attest to its brilliance. Works great and I have used it for all kinds of set ups.
