Weber Kettle Discada
« on: July 29, 2015, 05:49:04 AM »
I've made a few discadas out of some old plow discs and my friend that has a Weber kettle said he'd like one.

So, I drug out an old disc, plugged the hole and added a few handles to overlap the kettle.

He tried it out, worked great!  Looks like I have to modify mine now to fit my new "Tall Boy" kettle.

Have you seen the old style Weber Woks that are quite a bit like that, but with clips to hold it on the edge?

That looks awesome. Whats the diameter/thickness/weight of it?

I made mine, BIL is a farmer and brought me several to modify.  Since they are worn, they aren't 22" any more, more like 21".

However, there are some available already made up.  I'm guessing they weigh around 5-7 lbs. or so.

These show the handles with a contour of the disc, you'd have to flatten them out to make them work on the Weber kettle I suspect.

Yeah, Ag Supply !!!

There's some other places that make them up all fancy too.....good job on yours !!!!

There's fellow on Smoke Ring that makes them with holding trays attached to the sides to keep stuff warm while the rest is cooking.....
