Happy Days, I scored this 26" faded beauty about a month ago and am just now getting a chance to post some pics. He has a few battle scars as well as an ash pan I haven't seen before and it has original charcoal and cooking grates. He does need a good cleaning and is my 1st RRR.

A couple pics of the ash pan, 1st is twisted on

Hanging on clips, well not really clips...

So, what up with the ash pan??

It's not just a grill, it's a WEBER

I am no help with the pan, sorry.
That is a great looking old flattie, though!
A bunch of black kettles

Nice grab....waiting to learn about that pan, too!

Cool 26r Scott!! Congrats!

That's a 22 ashpan they have rigged up onto the 26. 8)

That's what I was thinking. Kinda small for the kettle but does the job to some extent I suppose. So I guess I'm looking for a correct ash pan if anyone has one hanging around....that'll be like a finding aneedle in a haystack. Thx SZF

Nice pickup! Working on my first RRR as well, as gave a friend his first. Looking forward to more pics and cooks. Are you gonna leave it faded, or restore it?
Still need a 22" yellow

MrHoss

Love that cooker!!! The orange peel showing in your second shot is SO cool. Finding a 26er ash pan could be problematic.....depending on who reads this.
"Why do you have so many bbq's?"....."I just like lookin' at em' sometimes....and I have enough purses and shoes"

truckertrash

Agree with @MrHoss, that orange peel is sweet. Nice find lookin forward to see cleaned up pics!

@TheDude    as of now I plan on leaving it faded. Give it the once over, a really good cleaning and am still on the fence about putting new wheels on. I like the way he looks, used and not abused.  @MrHoss   @truckertrash     thanks and I agree, I love the orange peel

I forgot to mention, all 3 handles are solid as well as all 3 leg sockets. He'll continue to "stand" the test of time.

I believe there is nothing cooler than an old faded flattop 26'r....just looks awesome!! Great pick up!!

Scott Zee

@indy82z  thanks,  that's the reason I named it Fonzie,  and as Stuart Scott said...He's cooler than the other side of the pillow

@Scott Zee   A Very nice find.   I recently found his sister (older sister, she's a '78), but she was missing a cooking grate & the ash pan.   @indy82z  set me up with a replacement grate, so now I'm just looking for an original ashpan.   If I run across two of them, one is yours   :D        SJ
"Too Beef, or Not too Beef" ...

Looking for Dark Blue MBH 22", Dark Green MBH 22", Yellow MBH 22", Glen Blue MBH 22", Avocado MBH 22".

Craig

That's a cool find! Love the orange peel finish on it. Like others have said, the original ash pans for these are next to impossible to find on their own. My brown 26 wears either a 22 twist or a 90s era 26 full disc.
