Converting Non-Performer Bowl to fit Performer table
« on: July 08, 2015, 05:00:53 PM »
Anyone try converting a standard weber bowl to fit a performer table? Are the brackets available from weber or would i have to custom make some. Looks like you would weld the brackets in place of the handles.

They are manufactured with the brackets welded on & then finish coated so don't believe you could just order that piece......

Might be reasonably easy to make from some kind of steel "L" hanger or bracket w/ just some bending involved.....I'm not quite that handy, but you & others may be.....

I recently removed performer brackets and reattached to a different bowl.  It wasn't too bad.

You could find a donor bowl,  or make your own if you're handy.

What kind of weld did you use to attach the bracket?

@jaycee213 You could probably go to home depot or lowes and take some measurements from a performer floor model, find some angle steel and make your own brackets.

I would use steel sheet, cut out the brackets in the same shape as the oem performer, bend on a brake or vise, then bolt to the kettle with SS hardware. I'd also use a OTS bowl so the the bale side won't have a handle. Don't forget to install the Gas Assist!

start with a flat piece of metal //so that when you bend it  you can bend to match the roundness of the bowl

I added a second handle to the side of mine with pop rivets. Clean lo pro look. I was given my pop rivet gun. Can't imagine they cost much.

Honestly, if you NEED a new performer bowl, it might be easier to find a performer on craigslist. The Modding required for an OTS/OTG bowl may not be worth the hassle.
