26 incher
« on: July 03, 2015, 08:45:29 PM »
last day of sale tomorrow .  can some body give me a reason no to go buy a 26 incher new in box for 250.00?   i can use the room only on occasion. 4 or 5 times a year.  not a need, just a want.  held off because i am still hopeful weber will bring out a 26 in performer , but..?   that would make 2 kettles, one is an orange stok though, and my new Q3200.   not crazy about the orange stok thoug. tks all

Throw the Stock away and get the 26. I don't think that Weber will ever build a 26" Performer.

Really …. You're asking all of us why you should NOT buy a 26'r ??

At that price, go get it.  Use it … Abuse it … Love it … cook everything on it, then report back.   :) :)

When I got my 26 I thought I'd only cook on it when it was needed.

But mANNNNN that grill changed the way I cook. It allowed me to take things to the next level.
The 26 is my daily cooker. The only time I fire up a 22 is to make sure there's no spiders in there, or to use the cajun bandit stacker or vortex.

I was sold on the classic 22 - lifer - die hard - "the 26 is way too much grill" I said........ And then I got one and my life was never the same. It's a game changer and you won't regret it - ever.

Go get it.

Although a biased place to ask, I can objectively say the input is legit.

I intentionally sought out a used 26er for increased capacity when smoking. Little did I know how useful it would be grilling and BBQing. I can fit cast iron pans, veggies, etc. I enjoy being able to cook my entire meal on it.

Even though I got mine used for $100, I think $250 new is a great price.

I wouldn't even think twice about getting a 26, I would just do it! (Give that Stok away to some homeless people who can use it to cook shoe leather under an abandoned bridge someplace) There is so much more you can do with a 26 than you can with a 22. If the 26'er your considering is a pre 2015 model, I would definitely get it simply because 2014 was the last year for the lid vent to be placed in the "classic position" (It has since been moved to a less desirable location on the lid). Also, forget about Weber ever making a 26 Performer. You'll be a gray haired old man wearing a poopy diaper before you'll ever see that happen!
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

ramsfan, i think the stok would make a good stand for a smokey joe for small cooks. might hang on to it.
