I don't need another 22", but this one looks so clean. The wooden handles look great, as does the top vent. But the combination of one touch and a twist on ash pan has me scratching my head. I have an appt to go see it this afternoon, but the seller is pretty obnoxious, so I'd like to have an idea of its age beforehand. He tried to get me to commit to buying it for $65 before he would let me come see it. I dont intend to pay $65 for it, but maybe $40 if it looks nice and is old. This one needs to be saved from the idiot who owns it, but I'm not sure I'll be the guy to do it.

Thanks in advance.

I agree on the one touch. What do you make of the twist ash pan?

My 84 has the same ash pan. My guess is it is somewhere near that year. Not 100% sure when they changed them though..

I plan to go take a look. I'd be buying it for my parents house or a friend,  probably. I can't see much more than $40, though.

I am not sure how the prices are in your region. I think I paid $25 for my 84, but anymore, finding anything less than 45 or so is getting difficult.

Just check the bottom of the bowl for rust and make sure the leg socks are solid. It looks like a good cooker though..

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

One Touch, twist ash pan, anything from
1983-1986. My money is on G Code.

I have an H code one touch I bought in 1986.  It has a round ash pan with the 3 springy clips.

Hogsy

It may of been replaced or is stock, 86 was the last year of the cut out ash pan. From 1980 they came with the clips and cut out ash pan

I will play too..I am going with F Code

SmokenJoe

Me too, me too.  I have an F-Code that I purchased for $5.00 a few years back.  It's a OTS with a late model twist on ash pan just like the photo.  It really cooks ribs well, I say get that baby and teach Ur folks all about the power of the "snake".     SJ
