Alright fellas, attempting gourmet with some stellar plating. My girlfriend is at book club tonight, so cooking for one.

I love sardines. I usually eat them out of a can. Covered in oil, mustard, tomato sauce, chimichurri, plain, doesn't matter, I love them. Especially with a Trisket or Wheat Thin. I saw some whole at the store and am bastardizing an appetizer I had in a good seafood spot.

On the menu:

Grilled sardines w/ cilantro pesto
Crispy duck fat new potatoes
Over mixed greens with olive oil and lemon

Kettle getting going

The sardines

Potatoes and whole garlic cloves in duck fat in the 6" cast iron, sizzling good

There they go!

Good and charred

Plated: on top of a mix of baby kale, chard, and spinach, covered in cilantro pesto. The greens were tossed with lemon and olive oil, and the heat from the fish wilted the greens just enough. The potatoes were killer.

And the chef (in homemade tie dye):

Good looking cooks so far fellas!

Nice work austin87! Don't think I've seen sardines on the grill like that!

Here's a few more from dinner:

See ya tomorrow!!

The menu for the day consisted of blue cheese burgers, buttermilk brined wings, stuffed celery wrapped in bacon, bacon wrapped meat balls, turds, balderson cheese topped bread with apple slices, chili cheese dip and pizza. I was busy and did not get a lot of shots....the other guys will be adding shots later I would think....

AFH dubbed this his @1buckie Wish You Were Here Platter:

Hope I'm not too late!

This was last nights meal. We had last minute dinner guests, so I relied on a quick and easy cook to feed everyone. Chicken and beef teriyaki, over sticky rice...never any leftovers.

It sprinkled a bit!

I always use boneless, skinless chicken thighs and tried flat iron steak for the first time.

I screwed the pooch for day one.......cooked corn on the cob, sirloin steaks, broccoli, and baked beans.  Forgot about taking pics until I was cleaning off the table....DOH!  So I guess it didn't happen. Tonight is burgers and I won't forget. The rest of the pics look great so far

Okay, I'm a couple days late, but this was done on July 1st. @MrHoss and @AcrossFromHoss can surely vouch for me.

Nothing fancy, just New York style pie done on the KP.   8)
