The plan was simple, get out a few grills and cook for the family .

My son (12)  surprised me with some new grilling tools , he spent his own money that he earned by mowing lawns to buy them...there now my new favorite tools ...sorry Weber :)

I boned out some chicken thighs and brined then up, I smoked them with some apple wood and then cooked up some chicken apple sausage and cheeseburgers . For sides I had some leftover smoked chuck roast from the night before , we stuffed that into some mushrooms topped with weber BBQ sauce and then added some Gouda and smoked those until the mushrooms were soft , finished with a dab of mozzarella cheese and rub !  We also did up some wrapped asparagus ( my wife's new favorite ) and had some tater salad as well . Desert....some cupcakes , my little girls couldn't wait for that part !

Great food, great kettles & that last shot needs to be in a Weber ad !!!!!
"If you want it fancy there is BBQ spray paint at home depot for that. "
    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!
"But the ever versatile kettle reigned supreme"

Some great food and good times spent with your family. Making memories you and your kids will never forget. This is what it's all about. Thanks for sharing.

looks like a great day!   food looks good. how did you do the asparagus.

Idahawk

Hey, welcome to the WKC @terrymo.
I think the idea came from @Troy , I couldn't find his recipe but the idea is to olive oil up some asparagus,  season a little ( no salt ) because the prosciutto is salty . Wrap a slice of provolone and a slice of prosciutto around 4-5 stalks of asparagus and tie off , grill until the asparagus is tender and the prosciutto is slightly crisp , I usually char and then move to indirect heat :) -10 -15 minutes ??? It may vary , hope that helps .

I only use kettles with lid bales.
