This year I decided I wanted a garden but was a little limited on space. So, I decided to build a raised planter garden and incorporate my love of all things grilling. I bought a couple of old kettle bowls and a Smokey Joe from Indy82z. I built the frame out of some treated 2x4s and some unused fence panels. The sides are some cheap boards that I picked up from Home Depot. I mounted the bowls in the frame and secured them with a couple of screws in the handles. The smokey joe sits on a platform in the middle. I filled the bowls with planting soil and then loaded them with veggies. Soon, I should be able to grill fresh tomatoes, peppers (green, jalapenos, and Hungarian wax) and a healthy does of various herbs. It was a fun project overall and only took a couple of hours to build.

pretty cool!

you can make them 'self watering' too.

I struggle with mine. I want them to look nice, but I also want to see that it's a weber kettle garden.
