Ok so this is the performer I saved from the scrap yard welded the tabs of the frame back together got it nice and sturdy now wondering what is the cheapest way to go on getting new ash sweep and lid bale for this crazy two tone grill I've always been a freestanding grill guy but I'm finding having the propane charcoal lighter built in is pretty cool and no newspaper ash blowing around oh also missing lid thermometer so has anyone got any parts cheep or am I better off just ordering up strait from weber thanks

By the way it looks like this now

Don't bother with a used one; they go bad over time anyway and start to mis-read higher temps.

If the kettle predates the 7444 sweeps design, the ash bucket ring will be supported by a steel bar that's secured by the now-obsolete 7409 sweeps. If that's the case here your options are to support the ash bucket's ring with radiator hose clamps to the leg sockets or finagle the ash bar for use with the 7444 sweeps.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

yep it has the old style metal bar supported ash ring I think I saw another post were someone filed out the holes in the new style sweep enough to make room for the support bar

I filed out the holes that you slide the handle into.  There is enough metal there to give you enough room for both the original bar and the new 7444 sweep.
