Stuffing topped Pork & Apple skillet
« on: May 05, 2015, 07:10:30 PM »
I was at the grocery store yesterday and was picking up some Stove Top among other staples (don't make fun, I'm a lifelong Stove Top junkie) and actually turned the box around this time and was intrigued by the recipe on the back. So I thought "oh what the hell!?"

Here it is.. I deviated in two ways.. I used bone-in chops, I trough the chops on the grill for a minute or so after being in the pan (gotta have grillmarks) and u pre cooked the stuffing and added it to finish for the last 5 minutes. So it wouldn't be crunchy..

Get the grill ready... Tonight's grill is the 1979 22 "Red Forman" . Set up 50s style with only daisy vent open and the lid vent. Got the grill to 350. Indirect medium heat.

Started the chops in the pan with 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinaigrette. Then seared them over the coals for s minute on each side.

Then I removed the chops and added the rest of the vinaigrette (3/4 cup) the sliced onion and the apple slices. Cooked for 3 minutes the. Added the water and brown sugar, stirred another 3 minutes. I also was precooking the stuffing inside then added the chops back in and then the stuffing to finish it off. About another 5-6 minutes .

Family approved! It's a "have again" as my wife says. Thanks for looking!

I love it! Stuffing does not belong only at the Thanksgiving table...

Gotta love getting the "have again" from the Wife. I like stuffing too but eat it on holidays only....should change that.

Thanks guys! Maybe it's a Midwestern thing but stuffing is awesome anytime of the year whether it's Stove Top or homemade.
