Turkey On The Weber Summit
« on: April 21, 2015, 04:08:38 PM »
I know this is for mostly Kettle that I also use... but on this occasion I used the Summit. This is the Picture of it cooking and cooked. I also included the Recipe that I did.

This is how I cooked it...

20 LB Turkey 15min per pound
Weber Beer can Chicken Spice
Stubs Chicken Spice
Extra virgin olive oil
1 Large Apple

Cooking
•   Preheat bbq grill to 400°F to 350°F
•   Clean Turkey making sure to get the liver, neck, and heart out of the Turkey
•   Put spices under the skin (but do not tear skin)
•   Put spices on the outside of Turkey and inside Turkey
•   Now quarter the apple and place inside the Turkey
•   Take Extra virgin olive oil and rub all around the outside of the Turkey
•   If desired add one hand full of (Hickory Chips and Apple Chips) to grill in a small Aluminum Pan and place over burners. I do 1 smoke sessions in the beginning
•   Place Turkey on the grill belly side down and cook for 90min.
•   Turn Turkey on its left side and cook for 60min
•   Turn Turkey on its right side and cook for 60min
•   Turn Turkey on its back and cook for 90min
•   Let cook until inside temp is 165°
•   Remove Turkey from grill and tent with aluminum foil let rest about 20 min to 30 min..
•   Slice Turkey and Enjoy

This is a delicious Turkey and is best served with a Lager Beer!! ICE Cold!

I thought it looked like a pinstripe suit.  ;D

Thanks @austin87 and @1911Ron that bird died for a good reason! Turned out great! Very jucie . It was the first time I made a turkey on the grill. I make a lot and I do mean a lot of beer can chicken on the grill and figured that turkey isn't anything but a big fat chicken. Next I going to try beer can turkey with a Fosters Beer can. I'll let everyone know How it turns out.  ;D
