I used a high heat engine enamel spray balm into a cup, then brushed it on carefully. The color is a great match but also almost all the damage was at the very lower rim edge so it hides really well. All the large flat surfaces were in great shape and a bunch of the black stuff from the original photos came off as well.

Forgot to mention I was using a HC internal ash pan for the first time today. What a great setup! Highly recommended if you can get your hands on one.

I like keeping my special kettles like new and always dreaded re cleaning them after single cooks... With this it's super easy. Just remove and wash out the pan, no drippings or ash in the vents or bottom of the kettle, it's great!

I would have bet money that one had small tabs looking at the original photos! Congrats on the score! That's a gorgeous Gourmet! I think I will try the spray into a cup technique when go to touch up my Gardener.
