i grabbed a bag recently and thought it was decent.

burned real nice, not as much ash as i suspected.  I dunno, i'd probably buy another bag or six.

it was void of the chemical smell that KBB seems to produce.  (not ripping KBB, just an observation).

has anyone else had good/bad experiences with it?
I only use kettles with lid bales.

I think it's great!  My go to charcoal.  For most cooks.  I think has a great smell great temp, and it hold together well for reuse.

No bad experiences with Stubbs at all. That's all I use.
Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.

I like to grill with lump but I smoke every time with Stubbs.  I highly recommend it.

It's da shit for long, slow burns......runs reasonably hot for high heat.....

I'll second that it smells really good compared to K. Smells very similar to lump but lasts longer. For the price though, I usually turn to lump.

Thanks for all the feedback, I see it all the time but have yet to try it.  Does it ever go on sale with prices like KBB?

I use stubbs for all my long smokes...brisket, ribs, pork butt...works great.

Stubbs is, so far, my favorite briquette. Last year, there were several opportunities to get 20% off $50 purchase at Lowe's. If these pop up again, this summer, I'll be stocking up for sure. Coshell is nowhere to be found around here, so Stubbs is my KBB alternative. I have seen Stubbs at Lowe's only, in these parts.

Summary.....I LIKE STUBBS!!!   8)

Yeah it's my favorite briquette too, burns great, pleasant smell. I'm into lump too, but got kind of tired of the inconsistency. I've been using Coshell since it went on sale for super cheap, but I switch back.

I have used it before, I like it. I just bought a bag this time around because Lowes gave me a free charcoal  caddy with the purchase. Was for KF, but I know they go on sale and not to pay full price. Think it was $10 a bag.
Own: 14' Black Performer Silver , Retiring 06' Black OTG.

thanks for all the input guys!

it was less than $8 a bag at walmart for a 15 lb bag.  seemed like it was worth the risk.

will be picking up more this weekend for sure.  :D
