WOW! That is very cool of the family member to have just put it away!!!!!!!!
Then to have the box to have survived, original packaging just a bonus to such a great find.

I think you should put it on the mantel in the living room.

I have a similar one.  For what its worth, the original owners (two sisters) passed on "late 1960s" regarding when they bought it new.

At a closer look, the newspaper used to wrap the legs was dated December 25, 1971. I believe it is the original wrapping based on the brown tape that was used.
There was also the recipe pamphlet that has a copyright of 1973.
I should have looked closer!
