@1buckie  Thanks. I think I have everything I would need to build that setup.  It loos like a fun project and it would be pretty cool to BBQ with my own charcoal.

I will occasionally buy a few bags of Lazarri Mesquite and if I'm lucky their Oak lump from Cash & Carry 40lb bags for @ $14, but it requires breaking down and sorting. I might get 10lbs of dust from a 40 lb bag and chunks as big as a football!


I use that a lot. For the price, it can't be beat. Cheaper than all but the cheapest KBB. It is frustrating the amount of dust and too small pieces. Also, I seem to always have rocks or cement. QC is not high with Lazarri.


I save the really big ones for pizza cooks or overnight cooks.
