Found this SJS new today for $15 so I figured I'd just get it and build a mini. 8)

Are the "good" steamer pots available again?
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

There are 2 or 3 walmarts nearby that have the IMUSA in stock. If I decide to use something different, what bottom and top dimensions should I be looking for?

Does the IMUSA pot fit correctly? I thought the Vasconia pot was the preferred option for a mini?

Or use the SJ lid that's on display.

+1 on bringing your lid. I didn't and my pot rim needed some crimping at home.

@Nate Looking forward to watching your progress, I'm also looking into a mini . This SS Cajun Bayou pot fits, it's 30 qt and has a rolled top lip. I was considering it with my build.

I was going to get out my bayou classic deep fryer pot and check fit but we went out to dinner. I'll check it out when I get home.

I want to build one also as soon as I find a pot, the local Walmart didn't have any in stock last time I checked, and I hate to order one if it won't fit.

Free ship to store and REAL EASY return - order one - you have little to use and if you don't order one, you sure won't have anything! 8)
