Finally going to break in the "demo" 26".
« on: April 04, 2015, 03:03:20 PM »
Scored a demo 26" off craigslist after a local raided a few Homer Depots.  Looking forward to "warming up" a couple hams tomorrow.

This one came with no cooking surface so i called weber and they sent me out a new one, no questions asked aside "how did you end up without a grate"?  to which i replied "it was a floor model at home depot, they didn't have it".  that was 'nuff said aside giving them the wrong letter vent code.  honest mistake, i thought it was a 2014, but it turns out to be a 2012.  no matter either way.

The only dirty ash bucket i had was a copper one, so i plugged it in there.  looks cool, different, probably leave it.

Also put some birdseye maple "smokeburst" finish handles on it and lost the heat shield. (thanks @SixZeroFour for the idea on that.)  but basically i carved them using honed unicorn horns sharpened with bigfoot tears.  ;)

I'm looking forward to most of my summer cooks happening on this bad boy.

I'll be using a couple kettles tomorrow, there's baked beans and a green bean/mushroom soup thing, both of which require some CI lovin.  So the CI will probably go on a side 22.

Have a great Easter everyone!   ;D

I only use kettles with lid bales.

Hmmm, I had to read that twice.  I kinda like that!

And that ash bucket.  It doesn't really match the grill...but I'm kinda liking the contrast!
Kettle collector AND cooker!

Nice, I think I'll remove the heat shield on my 26'er.
