Dutch Oven ribs
« on: March 22, 2015, 08:51:57 AM »
or riblets, the store I shop a lot of meat at sells the cutoofs for cheap so I like to get a bunch and save them for Dutch Oven cooks

first you lay down a base of one large sliced onion, one bell pepper, 8 sweet peppers and a Jaleno or 2
pour in almost 2 Guinness beers, do not forget to swig each beer

After a 2 hour cook, that is 9 coals on bottom, 15 on top, replace coals on the hour

I know they are not grilled on the weber,

but as I often state I love dutch oven cooking and these are so good

the riblets fall from the bone after a 2 hour cook, they taste amazing, the onions are totally caramelized and the taste is everywhere, peppers are giving off a great taste and when you scoop up the beans with all that mixed in, it is like drip beans on steroids.

is there such thing as to big of a D.O.?

I run from 8 inch to 16 inch, and I could go bigger on full size turkey cooks if I wanted
