Taterzilla Rides Again..........
« on: March 12, 2015, 05:21:02 PM »
He's Baaaacccckkkkk....... 8)

Found some more huge taters.....this time I split a bag with Ma when I took her over to Costco.....

Rubbed down & on the scale.....

An even ONE KILO......

Thawed some pork tenderloins out & as I wanted smoked & it makes the wife (she calls herself that, even after annoying statements about smoked foods !!!!) gag....just fired two 18"'s.....

Ran both taters for awhile, then moved things around to add smoke...

Then, after a long time on heat, the pork....

Measley portion for the non-smoke crowd....

When they sink into the grate, that's good meat....

A little perspective......

Chop & fix tater with butter, S & P, cheese 'n' maybe some other stuff.....jalepeno artichoke dip?

Add pork chunklets......

Barely made it thru this one.....that platter is the size of a standard Chinet platter..... :o 8)

Potatoes that occupy their own ZIP code are a force to be reckoned with, especially when just two can span an 18.5 kettle. Yowza.

Pork chunklets with cheese and pepper dip! I'm in!
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

That's my kind of portion. One of my favorite combos. Good cooking.

Wow, a tater that weighs 2.2 lbs … I really can't stand the metric system, even though I'm surrounded by it.

That plated pic is outrageous!  I would need to eat that in stages … in between the "sweats" …  8) ;) ;)
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

This was really good.....that's thing thing I was saying about stabbing all around with a fork, Mark.......cooks a little faster, but man.....the smoke just invades the beast when you do that......

Nothing quite like smoked taters..... 8)

Thanks for lookin' all.... ;D
