DIY Kettle Side Table
« on: March 14, 2015, 11:29:24 AM »
For those of you looking for a DIY side table for the Kettle. I made one using an RV Porta-Leggs base and an RV Pedestal Table Leg and mounted a wood top. You can goggle "RV Porta-Leggs or just use 2 RV Pedestal Table Leg Bases and the Leg. It was pretty simple. The legs are aluminum comes in different lengths.

The purpose of the knob. I have an Unknown Hinge installed on the Kettle and it's much easier to lift the lid with the knob.

That is nice!
I have heard of the Unknown Hinge and have seen it applied to WSMs. Can you give us some show & tell about yours?

The Unknown Hinge works well on the Kettle  I have them on both of my 22" Kettles and my 18" WSM. The same Hinge works both both sizes. They lock in place when the Lid is raised.

I like both the table and hinge. The thing about the table is i could belly up to it and anything that falls out of my beard will land on the table. That would save having to bend over to pick the little morsels up and pick the dog hair off them, and i wouldn't have to race the dog for the morsel either.
