Greek Burgers
« on: March 11, 2015, 04:25:52 PM »
Started with ground beef and ground lamb, chopped parsley, oregano, mixed peppers, green and white onions, garlic and tomatoes

Mixed all the ingredients and added S&P and some spices

I had these plastic 7-inch wide plastic containers- they seemed to have the perfect width and depth for this purpose

I lined one of them with plastic wrap

Pressed the meat on top of the plastic wrap

Covered the top of the meat with the access wrap

I then placed the second container on top and applied pressure evenly to mold the burger

Placed the molded burgers on a cookie sheet and refrigerated them overnight.

Grilled them the next day

Served them on grilled Greek flat bread, which was perfect size for these burgers :)

Served with Grilled Eggplant and Greek yogurt salad
They were very tasty!!!

That's like the "Meatloaf Burgers" we do sometimes.....good lookin' cook !!!

Hey Z....do you ever take pics of your vegetable prep?
Like how you go about carving up a bell pepper or onion or tomato?

Just wondering as you always seem to have a bunch of bits & I do sort of the same, but not on as big a scale usually.....I have certain ways I've found to carve thru stuff really quickly....I use a Henckels bread knife & it just zips for vegs....

    Covered, damper-controlled cooking.....IF YOU PLEASE !!!

Thanks 1buckie,
I have several boxes full of knives and have tried many brands. I came across Kiwi knives recently and I absolutely love them!!
They make prepping and chopping a pleasure :)
They are very reasonably priced and you wouldn’t mind if they didn’t last very long. The blades are so thin and that allows them to have very sharp edge. I also like their flexibility for certain applications. The shapes of their blades are unique and perfect for chopping veggies.

I do cheat every now and then and use the food processor for large amounts  :-[
I'll have to take some pix next time I prep with them, and especially for tomatoes, onions and peppers. I always take pix after prepping and never done it during.

Thanks jcnaz :)

Lamb burgers look killer, and love that they kept in theme and fit perfectly on the pitas!
