That is impressive, you should have enough grilling area to cook the entire cow or a couple of pigs at one time now

Thanks, everyone. I REALLY like it! It's serving as my grill and smoker until the new pit gets here next month. My trailer rig sold faster than I expected last year, so the mod was a must to get through the Winter. I've only used the top rack in it, but it works great. I made a couple of expanded metal rings to accommodate different cooking times, and also keep the coal/wood off the inside enamel. I used a water pan the first couple of times, not knowing how it would cook. I think it'll be fine without them, but if I have room, why not?! Here's a few pics of the rings, along with a couple of the cooks it's done.  :D

Lives down near Houston. Where the decent bbq happens in texas. I'm not sure what happened but there's not a decent bbq place near me. I thought I did until I had some Q in Houston. It ruined and humbled me. I have a lot more to learn

Well done. That looks great.
You have inspired me to start scouring craigslist and garage sales to seek out my own Ranch.
I don't think I have ever seen one on Detroit Craigslist though.
