SS Perf Replacement Tank - Is this one correct?
« on: February 13, 2015, 06:33:45 PM »
Is this the correct tank?
http://www.amazon.com/Manchester-Tank-10054-ACME-Vertical/dp/B000243QA0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1423884175&sr=8-2&keywords=propane+tank+5+lb

Is it a fair price?

Lowes, for $8, has the new nut to fit the existing reg. to convert to the new threads.

I paid $50, shipped. The one I bought was refurbished. I had an extra fitting from a beat up gasser, that replaced the old style fitting. Here is a pic from a post I made from a restore I did...

The top of this refurbished tank is the only ugly spot on it. Every other part of it looks new. The regulator and everything down the line (including the ignitor) is original. I saved the tank fitting from the gas grill I used for my cart.

That will work. Cheapest I've seen that size tank was @$50 locally.

I have an extra QR fitting if you don't want to go with the Acme fitting.

Any idea where I can grab one locally?  I think you are also in Seattle area.

@ClubChapin  americanfirestore1 is where I got mine for $35 plus $19.95 shipping, so it was actually $55. I did a quick search, and the lowest I could find was $50 plus $20 shipping.

A lady from Weber customer service directed me to Manchester Tanks, but then I found this place below a while back. These new tanks don't have the flat back on the top ring like the original (according to Manchester, none of the new ones do), so I don't know how the fit will be. Much cheaper to buy it here for $48.84 plus around $8 shipping to Seattle :
