I will be using marine stainless stanchions to replace the rusted off original stanchions, unless someone has a better idea, any suggestions?

Are you going to use stainless steel bolt on flanges in place of the leg sockets?

yes and easily found online, 90 degree angle, 1 inch diameter, 16 buks each, will try to cover existing attaching points, thanks
