Bit the Bullet: Weber Original Charcoal Pizza Oven (Weber Part No 6520)
« Reply #15 on: December 20, 2014, 08:18:17 AM »
I found some more info on the pizza oven.

"Weber based their accessory on this item http://chadwickoven.com/order-today
Quite an interesting little gizmo...
There is a press article here which confirms it
http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/Daniel-Chadwick-sets-world-alight-new-pizza-oven/story-18586967-detail/story.html#axzz2RN3D10Ts
and a Weber launch day here which credits Chadwick as the inventor http://www.weberbbq.co.uk/weber-news/charcoal-pizza-oven-exclusive-launch/

I think it was due to launch earlier but the handle to open was originally plastic and was melting - the new handle is all metal it seems (looks better as well)."

I plan to try a few more pies this afternoon.

I just ordered one of the Pizza Ovens.  Interesting, it was cheaper at amazon.de than it was on the other eu amazon sites I looked at, .es, .fr, and .it.  Also much cheaper than .co.uk.

Shipped it is less that the sales price at the braaishop.
http://www.braaishop.com/shop/weber-charcoal-pizza-oven/

amazon.de seems to be a great deal.

I also picked up one of these:

The Mangal was an impulse add.

If they had the griddle, I would've grabbed that too.

That is a different handle.

Same price I paid, 159eu.  That's about 195usd.  http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/

This is the one I bought, sold by Amazon.  Unfortunatly, Prime doesn't work internationally.

Did anyone see this?

How much $US is this?

Read post one of this thread: I paid $235 delivered.

That handle was the one that melted and was replaced with the one that requires a glove. (Ask me how I know a glove is required.)

That's what I thought.  It was spontaneous for me to add to my pizza oven order.

I don't know if I will use it much or not.  Don't know what I will cook on it.

You bought just the top, what I posted is a complete cooker.  Both the same price.  Interesting pricing strategy   ::)

I think they are the same.  The one you posted is pictured on a kettle.  It has the same part number, 6520, as the oven only.

If you follow the link to the outside seller, is is "Weber Pizzaofen für Holzkohlegrills ø 57cm"  (Weber pizza oven FOR charcoal grills 22 in)

@bamma bbq  Thanks for sharing the photos of the Pizza Oven. I really like this setup. I wish I had worked harder at locating one when they did the limited release last year.  I was sure that Weber would do a full release this year.

At this point I can hardly justify the $150 cost, but the extra $65-$70 to have one shipped from Europe really puts it out of my reach. I guess I will just have to keep hoping and praying that Weber wizens up and makes them available here.

Just ordered one from Amazon. Don't ask me how much... I already know that you gents understand that whatever I paid was well worth it for a rarity such as this. On another note, anybody wanna buy my KettlePizza?

Hey Dave,

Same merchant, two links.

http://www.shopmancini.com/en/barbecue/181-weber-oven-for-pizza-and-coal-fired-barbecue-o-57-0077924013317.html

https://www.amazon.it/dp/B006Z7VB1Y/...122621_TE_item

I've already confirmed that they will ship to the US via DHL.

Note* If you go through the non-amazon link, you will find that they do accept PayPal as a payment option as well.

They're shipped from Italy, which just makes this pizza maker a little more "authentic" to me.... If it's survived in the pizza motherland market, it's gotta be a keeper.

Don't forget to take advantage of the webpage translators, I use Google Chrome which does it automatically.
