Unexpected CL find!
« on: November 28, 2014, 01:23:28 PM »
So, my wife hates our dining room/kitchen chairs.  Can't say I'm a big fan myself.  We have a smallish red table and I thought I'd work off some of that Thanksgiving dinner by browsing craigslist - Didn't want to overdo anything.  Anyway, I enter "red kitchen chairs" in the search engine and the first thing that comes up is a moving sale in Santa Rosa - an hour and a half away - but an image caught my keen eye.  Heres the ad:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/fuo/4773767040.html

What???  "Red Weber BBQ - $15"  ????  Wow.

Still, it IS in Santa Rosa, and I am in Vacaville.  Thats an hour and a half no matter how you slice it, and the boys are home from college for a few days.  Dont wanna waste 3 or 4 hours on the road with possible holiday traffic hassles.  Then:  An epiphany!  I called my friend and former neighbor that lives in SR.  Deal was done in a couple of minutes.  Look at this beauty!  + the lady threw in an electric starter and a grill brush!  Yeah!

Fifteen bucks?  A Thanksgiving miracle!

Hahaha!  Like I said, don't want to over do anything.  Time for a turkey and dressing sandwich!

Well, got some chairs.  Had to drive over to Marin county.  Lady was a bit of a wheeler-dealer.  Ready to sell everything in her garage.  Of course I had to ask if she had any Weber kettles.  She told me she "has a small one, probably not what I'm looking for".  Thats how I got my new (to me - date code DA) Jumbo Joe for $10.
