So I recently bought a Performer Cover off Amazon for my 2000 SS Performer and it won't fit.

I assume the new performer covers were made for the new plastic table performers, but thought I could suqeeze it in.  Is there a trick to it or are the SS Performers just too big?

Visually the old one looks longer because of the tube handles that stick out of it. The older ones are still available but cost a pretty penny.

Here is another place to get them, I ordered two from them in the spring. $50.00 each, it's a nice heavy cover.

Funny you guys brought this up.  I have a brand new cover for the ss perf and I gave it to the lady who sews my covers,  she is going to use it for a template.  We can have all the covers we want.... she usually makes them from oil cloth, it's like an outdoor table cloth.  It works great for covers.  If anyone is interested let me know.....

I'm interested in a cover for a Sequoia. I might also be looking for a cover for an offset smoker.

As far as the factory for the SS performer, I would ask that it be made a little looser. I think that Weber makes them a little on the tight side. Perhaps that is to keep them from blowing off in the wind, but I think the approach they have taken with the gasser covers (velcro straps) is a better solution.
kettles, smokers...

Good to know, send me an email Hank, and we can get some covers going.. . good to know about the performers, I'll have her cut it a little larger.....

I just ordered three Weber covers for my SS performers and this is the best price I could find.  The Weber part number is 8701.  Price was $39 and change each plus shipping which was less then $10 for all three.  Anything else ordered at that time can be included in that flat shipping charge.  I ordered three which is all they had on hand but they might get more.  Kinda hard to find the covers on the website so I just called and placed the order.

I'm hoping to get some done cheaper than that....

Did anyone have these made? I'd like one.  I also am thinking about chopping of the goofy handles to accommodate the new style covers.

I'd be interested in a pair of these.

Is this fabric waterproof?  Does it require maintenance?

If you are going to resize these a little, could they be resized to accommodate the new lid bale, to facilitate fitting with the new 2015 lid bale on the SS Performer?

@ClubChapin, that's a great idea.  I think a lot of us will be stepping up to the larger lid bales soon.  And maybe my floppy new cover will actually justify the need to upgrade my lid bale!  ;-)   I love the way we enable one another's addiction around here.  ;-)
