A couple of cherries arrived today!
« on: September 02, 2014, 03:49:07 PM »
Literally just got these out of the SUV and onto the work bench! The "EZ" Code red fade JJ and a Patent # red 18  :)

... more of a teaser than anything else until I can get them whipped back into shape. The JJ has some checks around the rim of the lid but is otherwise pretty nice! The 18's got a few more battle scars but still has a real deep glossy red finish and what you see in the pics is the extent of the damage. Should still be respectable once she's all polished up.

Hopefully they will be ready to go for this Sundays festivities. If you haven't already signed up for the eCook, check out the thread in my signature line and win a red or two of your own! ;)

Very nice!  Love the two-tone on the JJ.

It appears that the wing-nuts are on the outside of the bowl. I believe they should be on the inside. I know you'll fix that.  ;) ;)
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

Indeed I will, but good eye Mark! The wingnuts are soaking in liquid wrench as we speak so it can be righted asap!  ;)

I'd keep that warehouse location secret if I was him too... might have to go mission impossible to liberate those kettles  ;) :)

I'm really on the fence but I may consider trading the JJ if a really sweet offer came up. I love it because of the fact it's rare and red but at least up until now I have only collected SJ's and kettles and have had ZERO luck trying to score a cool trade with somebody!... plus I'm not sure I want to open another compartment of Pandora's box by starting up with JJ's or WGA's or any other branch of the Weber family tree ;) I'll get her all cleaned up and see how she looks.
