3 cups Ketchup
1/8 of a cup chili powder
1/8 of cup Weber Chipotle Seasoning or chili flake
1/4 cup or more Fresh Huckleberries and some of the juice or ???? What ever berry you can get and or like .
1 tsp liquid smoke
1 tsp fresh cracked pepper
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp prepared mustard

Mix, simmer and taste, adjust to your liking, it's a fast and easy sauce make about 1 quart , it will keep for a about week in the fridge. I make a big batch and can it , that will last about a year , it gets better with age :)
Huckleberries have a sweet tart taste, they grow like weeds in the mountains around here and they blend well with the heat of the chipolte . I like it with pork and poultry, but it's great with any thing when your looking for a sweet heat.

Hope you like it

Looks the real deal, idahawk!

A superbly informative display

Do you think this could be used with any seasonal berry? Are there any particular berries to avoid?

We don't get huckleberries round here but a whole host of other varieties.

If you like the berry I don't see what you can't use it , I've done blue and raspberry . The raspberry I smashed and drained as it can make your sauce to juicy/ runny so I guess that's the only thing a guy would want to watch out for otherwise personal taste nothing wrong with experimenting :)
