I fired it up tonight. Just a few hamburgers so it didn't get super hot. It started to turn a darker yellow but never got fully orange. I guess I'll just have to get it hotter next time.   8)

Thank you to everyone for the friendly and encouraging responses to this post.  Members helping out members really is the essence of this forum.  I am really grateful that I was able to acquire this grill, this is the second one that I have gotten from this member.  I hope that someday soon I am able to pass a grill along to another member to make them as happy as I am to get this one. It can be fun to watch a grill sell for big money on eBay, but one member selling to another at a fair and affordable price is really what makes this hobby and this site so much fun. IMO.   :D
