Please Welcome...The 1958 Wood Dale Traveler
« on: July 24, 2014, 04:14:36 PM »
Several days ago this was spotted by an observer in the field.  The observer reported back to the Agent and the ball was rolling.  This Traveler was sold by the original owners (an elderly couple).  They remember buying this grill in 1958 (possibly '59).  The Traveler is all original and in nice condition.

Holy cow...another amazing 'Dale!  Awesome Harris!  I wonder what makes this different that an original Wooddale 18 aside from the legs.  Any other unique features on it that you see?

No ash pan.  This was made when the grills still had steel legs and this had aluminum legs to make it lighter.  It was supposed to be for camping or well...traveling.  It was the Jumbo Joe of its day.  I have no idea why it didn't have a pan....

I been campin' before....you stick it over the dirt & don't need a pan.....

That's really nice....all those years & looks like just a little tiny minor scuffing....wow..... ;D

The coating appears hyper thick, too....ripples........
