Very neat and creative! I agree with others that numbers are not necessary. Rather useful as well, no more under or over-cooked meat!

Wow, nice garage set up!  I've been telling myself I need to get organized with my stuff like that.  Nice work.

I love the smell of a evening cook...

Agree with no numbers, but would position the vent at 12 o'clock. It's the Movado of Bar-B-Clocks!

Yeah, but then the writing on the vent would be upside down.  ;)

Oh.  :o   Right.  ::)  Duh.   :-\   My bad.   :-[   Good catch.   8)

This is very cool.  I'm thinking of making one and I was wondering where you got the clock assembly from.

Thanks,

Mitch

I went a little smaller with mine. Goodwill/Salvation Army will usually turn up a few clocks for a buck or two. Mechanisms are easy to swap into a vent.

Stopped by a local Goodwill and found a better mechanism, with a second hand and a wall-bracket - made in USA even. The swap out took minutes:

Yea any clock store/repair shop should sell them too. They are pretty cheap and you can choose the hands you want to use. Fun project for sure 8)

Hi, my name is Six Ought Four, I'm a kettleaholic. When I first started, I only needed one...

Great job on the clock. I think it looks fine the way it is, the black arms and red second hand sorta remind me of the weber logo anyway.

If anything, I would do wider and longer arms to bring them into scale with the kettle lid.

I like the idea of the thermometer at the 12, too.

Here's a quick photoshop of the hands in white - looks ok but I'm real happy with it as-is!

Thanks for looking.

Instead of painting the entire hand, just do a strip down the center, kind of like the whitewalled wheels.   That or just paint 1/2 to 1inch of the tips white.

This is great Six! I'd go without numbers!

SixZeroFour

Thanks WNC, I kept it without 8)

This is an old thread, my beloved clock has been ticking away for over a year now ;)
