What would you suggest for 14" SJS for holding charcoal for smoking?  All I see on line are for larger size kettles?  Thank you.

Dont know of any manufacturer for charcoal holders for a smokey joe. Could make your own though.
Looking for--- a yellow mbh any size, sequoia ( I know I am dreaming), avocado any size, brownie any size.

With a jigsaw and some pliers you can make one out of expanded metal. Maybe you can even pop one of these charcoal rails in there: Check the clearance first though!

+1 for expanded metal.  I attached two square u bolts to opposite ends of the SJ charcoal grate, measured, and made a EM ring to slide over it.  Works good. You can see pics here...

Whoa that SJS is awesome. I missed that one originally. I have a similar project brewing. It's 85% done, I just need to make the lid flange. I think we have similar tastes in modding, G.

I haven't tried this yet, so I'm not certain that this will work, but it was something I thought up awhile back, but never had the chance to try.   Do you have any standard Weber charcoal baskets?

Do you see how the curved sides of the basket "tab into" the flat backside?  If you pop that tab out of the slot and cut a new slot inward one vent hole, it should make the basket shorter and more round to fit in an SJ.  Of course you'll have to trim off what is now the excess length of the flat backside and bottom of the basket.

Clear as mud?
Interested in ANY offset handle SJs you may have.
