And came home with this  8)
SCORE!!!!!

The guy had a E code 22.5" redhead in the pics and the listing was for a "large Weber charcoal grill". It was literally less than a mile off my normal back road route home from work so I made arrangements to buy it. When I showed up, the nice gentleman pulled out the red 26er.  I about pooed  :o. I told him I collect/restore old colored Webers and he asked if I wanted a 2nd one. Then he pulled out the red E code I was expecting to pick up. We agreed on a price for both, but I only brought enough cash for one. I paid him what I had, tossed the 26er in the trusty Corolla, and told him I'd be back tomorrow for the E code 22.5".

Had a crappy day at work, came home to a malfunctioning fridge/freezer, but I picked up a grail.......some days are better than others  ;D
I have a fritzy fridge to deal with, so no other pics till at least tomorrow.

Welcome to the Red 26 club!
That one looks to be in REALLY good shape too!!

They are plastic wheels.  Pat# on the lid vent. Small tabs all around. Two rivet handle.

It's in good shape overall, but has some battle scars. It's a little out of round (haven't checked lid or bowl). One lower vent was seized and broke off as soon as I touched it. It also has a lemon sized chip in the porcelain on the underside. I'm still tickled pink.....er red. It should polish up really nice

It also has what appears to be a black painted triangle. I had assumed they were all polished except for the newer kettles

I have a line on a 2nd red 26er as well. I've known about it for about a year. All I have to do to acquire it is to find a newer style 26er to trade for it. Then I'll have a pair of large tomatoes  ;D
