Weber.

Their amazing customer service and build quality has made me loyal.

What has whalen done other than copy an existing design?

Whalen's got a couple of interesting features, but was only mfg. for a year or two, so you'd play hell getting parts, I believe...............check into that before you leap............. :D

Yes, and thicker than that found on the smaller kettles. The RK cooking grate is pretty heavy.

For obvious reasons, I think most people on here would prefer the Weber. OK, I will state the obvious: brand loyalty, availability of replacement parts, brand loyalty again, and more brand loyalty. That having been said, I think most people would snatch up an example of either one, provided it was in good condition and the price was right (sub $400).
