well, I'll have my first Weber in my backyard on Tuesday according to Amazon. I went with the 22.5" one touch gold in the copper color. picked up the weber chimney starter and grill cover too. im really looking forward to it. this will be the first charcoal grill ive used in 20 years. here's hoping there's a lot of grilled and smoked meats in my future.  it seems like a really versatile grill.

Congrats on the new grill!!! When I use my chimney(rarely)  I ball a paper towel up and put a little vegetable oil on it. It's less messy than newspaper.

As the owner of many gasser, kettles and even a Kamado the One-Touch Gold is the most versatile grill out there.  Enjoy
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

thanks for the tip! I don't subscribe to the paper, so I am glad to know there are better alternatives.  :-)

thanks! it actually arrived today. I do have a question. I noticed a chip about the size of a dime in the porcelain on the inside. is this something I should be concerned with?

Welcome to the club. It is nice to have a different color for your kettle.  I like to use a paper bag to light my charcoal. But as long as it gets lit that is all that matters.
Two '86 Red OT 22's (sold one G), '85 Red OT 22, '88 Red OT 22's, '93 Red MT 22 (aka Donna), '93 Red SS Performer (non-gas and non-casters), '02 Green OTP( my brother in law has it now), '04 Green OTG

Bobby, if it was a used kettle I'm sure we'd all tell you not to worry about a chip, especially on the inside.  But if you're buying brand-new, I would definitely call Weber and let them know about the defect.  I expect they will send you a replacement for the chipped part right away.

(also keep an eye out for several PMs from people interested in trading for your slightly chipped part.  ;-)
One of the charcoal people.
