Incredible Jeff.  A stunning Sequoia and a terrific clean up as always.

I would find a close match for the missing board and the handle and slap them on.  I like it pretty much just the way it is.  Sometimes there is a danger of 'over restoring' if you replace a bunch of parts.  It is a wonderful piece as it is.  Oh, the stories it tells.

It looks like the bowl and lid were in better shape than mine but I think the wood parts on mine were in better condition. I found some burn marks on the boards and one door has teeth marks but there was no rot.

Did it have towel rings?

No towel rings on this one Hank, but I know you can get similar sized ones like you did.  The lid on this was really nice, only a few small chips, and yes, the bowl was a little better than yours was.

Thanks Buckie, yeah...but all means its not a full rehab like we've seen others do...it was just a quick cleanup for now.
