Before I even get into the post I want to make it very clear that my fantastic agent addicted-to-smoke did a great job packing up the kettle and there is absolutely ZERO blame pointed his way. Thank you again for all of your help ATS!







Unfortunately I feel sick to my stomach right now.

As most may know I've been anxiously awaiting the brand new red MT from St Louis. Well, it arrived today but as soon as it came off the truck I knew I was in trouble....

I really don't know what else to say at the moment so here is one pic for now. Also some damage to the lid and legs. I know it sounds foolish but I'm just devastated at the moment.



I called UPS and someone is coming to take a look at it tomorrow. I'm terrified to learn how they plan to reimburse me for this?! At first the lady on the phone said they will come and take the parcel away for inspection but I obviously refused.

Kettle Gods can kiss my ass this evening.

It's a simple thing. Put box on truck. Drive truck. Remove box.

Where the hell does slam something into it come into play? I know I spent at least an hour packing it and shoving every conceivable cardboard and bubble wrap possible into it. There was no way it jostled around loose in there. They attacked it.

I'm here with my sister (who was the Agent on Duty who picked it up from the seller) and my dad ... I won't even show them the picture. They're also pissed.

Damn.  It probably got thrown and or dropped pretty hard.  That sucks, man.  I've been tempted to get something shipped but stories like this makes me fearful for even trying.  Even the best packing job isn't going to save something that's handled carelessly.

I feel your pain mate. Had exactly the same thing happen with a NIB offset brown smokey joe. It managed to live peacefully for over 40 years until it got introduced to a few shipping 'professionals'.

It's amazing how bad it makes you feel. I actually lost a bit of interest in all for a little while.

Sorry to hear that happen to you. I run a shipping warehouse and you would be amazed at what happens to some of the most well packed items we ship. I've literally had ups drivers run over packages of hazardous items.

One note with ups no matter how many times they deny a claim keep submitting it you will win the claim
