Hey Idahawk. I can't give you a date range but have you checked the kettle gasser thread? weberkettleclub.com/forums/weber-kettles-accessories/solving-da-gasser-code/45/ it might have productions years for that type of kettle to help you narrow it down.

Hogsy

I'm thinking late 70's, it looks like the model with the lid tabs on the cover
I haven't seen that version before, is there anything interesting inside?
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

It shows an MBH gasser. Looks to be from the 1970s. More than likely late 70s. However it sports the earlier style plastic wheels (mid 70s)  That flame symbol matches the one found in the 1979 catalog. So in short order, 1970s..

What color should that kettle be? It obviously isn't black but is it too light to be red?

That looks similar in style to mine...

MBH
Tabbed lid as Hogsy pointed out
Heavy metal base

The only real difference seems to be the front leg standoff. I can't tell from the picture, but it looks to be a piece of looped metal, instead of a solid piece (as in the following pictures)?

And are the wheels a solid white wall, as opposed to the Weber ww?

Do you happen to have a closer picture of the cover? Are there more images inside?

The following images are from Hogsy's post of a 1977/78 catalog. The black one is mine   8)   ...

Dude, relax your chicken.

Craig

The Wheels on the original post look to be the 1971-1975 style. Thin whitewalls with plastic treads. And Dazzo that's the catalog I was referring to. TC-79 for 1979 model year.  :)

It's heading my way , I'll certainly share when it gets here. Thanks for help as always WKC !
