EE Red Performer
« on: April 11, 2014, 08:13:03 PM »
I tried, I really did. I let everyone know. Local Grilfellas, friends, family. No one was ready to buy this masterpiece. So I did it. The grill was listed on CL as a webber and maybe that's why it haunted me for 10 straight days on CL. Tonight was my opportunity and I struck. I think it's home. Again it's time to cut a few projects loose and thin the herd but this ones a keeper.

Nifty. Looks just like my O. My lid is either faded or "two tone"  (I never can keep the difference straight, and mine came with the proper cover which makes me think it wasn't often left out in the sun?)

Is that a 20lb tank they wedged in there? Looks a little fatter than the 5 pounder.

If a 5lb and a 20lb are the same height ... that gives me an idea I hadn't previously considered ...
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I'm not sure... it could also be an 11 lb'er.

That's a 5lb tank. The bottom rim is just off the ledge so it's sitting crooked. The 11 lb is twice as tall but the same diameter, unless it's a 11lb pancake which is about 1.5x larger diameter but approximately the same height.

Thanks for all the congrats. I have to agree with Gummi, it may be the best combo of appearance and function that Weber ever rolled of the line. He is correct about the tank also, it wasn't sitting in it's holder correctly and appears larger. It is the original tank. The Color appears darker around the bottom of the lid. Much  more so than a lot of reds in a google image search. We'll see what some cleaner and steel wool revels. Thanks again.

Let me go on the record and attest that HG contacted folks as far away as DC to find a buyer. He had no choice but to buy it himself.

I hate it when that happens and I have to take one for the team!
