Is the lid handle taller than a normal kettle? Looks like the height of a MT handle from the pics
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Great job! Looks beautiful
I'd be rolling that thing around the yard while cooking, just because I could.
You planning on cooking on it?

@Hogsy,yes the handle height is the same as a regular kettle ,basically 2 1/8,,     @WNC ,yep I will be cooking on it,if parents wouldn't think I was nuts I would love to roll up and down my block with hot doggies for the kids. (cwestsmokin )

Where did you get the rubber handle grips?  Also, what did you do to/use to restore the red walls?  Just scored one of these bad boys yesterday and can't wait to get started on this restore!

Love it.  Looks like you can take that for a walk around the neighborhood while cooking. Your dog must be scared that he's been replaced. Very nice looking grill.

That's a thing of Beauty. Love the reds.
I don't have a huge collection. But with 2 of the country's biggest collectors within 5 mins of my house, I figure it's cheaper to simply visit theirs.
Current collection: Red MT (EI), Red 18 (N). Red 18 (H), Red SS Performer, Red Gasser (Thanks Golly) 79 Chief, Blue GA, Burgundy GA, Simpsons SJ
