1965 John Deere Kettle?
« on: October 29, 2018, 01:37:41 PM »
Owner advertised this as a John Deere BBQ. Claims it was made in 1965. Anyone have any info on these?

Itís made by Structo with a handle labeled ďJohn DeereĒ.  Cast aluminum.  Hinged lid.  Multi position charcoal & cook grates.  Single, large damper in bowl & lid.  Has a tiny slip-on ash catcher.  1965 seems plausible, but canít be sure.  Iíve not been able to find production info on these.  This one has the earlier lid hinge design, which is far superior to later design (IMO).

Hereís mine for reference:

Hope you picked it up. Pretty cool score, especially up here in Canada.
